I'm Ben, creator of coolship.io, founder of AERONAUT and computational biologist at the Gifford Lab.
I work on projects inspired by my passion for science and vision for a better world. At one-time or another, I have worked on Jupiter, Saturn & Mars space missions at NASA & Cornell, taught physics & medical ethics in Qatar and researched biological networks at MIT. Currently, in addition to working @AERONAUT, I develop computational tools for genome engineering in Feng Zhang and David Gifford's labs at the Broad Institute & MIT.
I am also a Vice Chair on the Somerville Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee. When not working at AERONAUT or programming for Feng, I fight for a sustainable future by empowering minority entrepreneurs, creating platforms for emerging artists, and building strong communities in the city of Somerville and beyond.
